Custom furniture, fitted kitchens, and architectural woodwork, built from seasoned timber in Owerri.
We fabricate luxury kitchen cabinets, solid hardwood dining sets, walk-in wardrobes, and wall paneling for private residences, duplexes, and commercial developments across Nigeria.
What We Fabricate
We do not use cheap imported particleboard or compressed sawdust that swells and sags in Nigerian humidity. Every kitchen cabinet, dining table, wardrobe, and wall panel is precision-machined in our Owerri workshop from seasoned Nigerian hardwoods and moisture-sealed substrates.

Frequently Asked Questions
Direct answers regarding wood seasoning, regional climate resistance, custom timelines, and project delivery across Nigeria.
Most imported ready-made furniture is manufactured from cheap particleboard (compressed sawdust) and standard MDF wrapped in thin paper foils. In Nigeria's tropical climate—where humidity regularly exceeds 80% during the rainy season—these porous boards absorb moisture from the air and water splashes, causing them to swell, crack, sag, and peel. At Konkaya, we machine all carcasses from high-density moisture-resistant marine boards and use solid, kiln-dried Nigerian hardwoods sealed with multi-stage industrial polyurethane.
Nigerian Iroko (locally known as Oji in Igbo) and Sapele Mahogany are the gold standard for heavy furniture and doors in Nigeria. Iroko has natural oils that make it naturally resistant to termites, wood borers, and water damage, making it ideal for statement dining tables and exterior frames. Sapele Mahogany offers exceptional stability, straight ribbon grain, and rich reddish tones perfect for grand entrance pivot doors, internal passage doors, and acoustic wall slats. For bathroom vanities and areas with moisture, West African Teak is also an outstanding choice due to its high silica content.
Yes. While our 1,200 m² central fabrication facility is based in Works Layout, Owerri, we regularly deliver and install complete residential and commercial joinery packages across Port Harcourt (Rivers), Enugu, Asaba (Delta), Anambra, Abia, Abuja, and Lagos. We do not subcontract installation to local day-laborers; our own permanent workshop joiners travel with the transport to assemble, align, and fit every piece on your site.
We season all raw timber in-house in our drying kilns for 21 to 30 days until it achieves a stable 10% to 12% equilibrium moisture content before any cutting begins. Additionally, we machine concealed expansion channels into tabletop substrates and apply complete 6-sided moisture-barrier sealant coats on all panels. This prevents the timber from shrinking and cracking in the dry Harmattan winds or swelling when high rainy season humidity returns.
Standalone furniture (such as a solid wood dining set or media console) typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. Fitted kitchen cabinetry and custom walk-in master wardrobes take 5 to 7 weeks, which includes 3D design finalization, precision carcass machining, dry workshop pre-assembly, and on-site installation. Whole-house furniture packages and multi-unit developer contracts typically take 8 to 14 weeks depending on the total unit count.
