Project Scope & Woodwork Details
The client commissioned a contemporary dining suite capable of comfortably seating 10 guests without leg interference, paired with a continuous acoustic timber wall to dampen sound reverberation in a large open-plan ground-floor living space.
We cured local Nigerian Iroko (Oji) down to 10% moisture content in our workshop kiln over 28 days to prevent seasonal cupping, warping, and cracking during the dry Harmattan season. The 45mm tabletop slab was jointed using concealed steel splines and supported by a sculptural cantilevered pedestal base. The fluted wall slats were individually machined, bevel-cut, and mounted onto acoustic backing boards.
All timber received three coats of dead-matte Italian polyurethane to protect against spills and heat while preserving the natural tactile warmth of authentic Iroko.
