Architectural Scope & Joinery Engineering

The client commissioned a statement dining set capable of comfortably seating 10 guests without leg interference, paired with a continuous acoustic timber wall to dampen sound reverberation in a large open-plan ground-floor parlour.

We seasoned local Nigerian Iroko (Oji) down to 10% moisture content in our workshop kiln over 28 days to prevent seasonal cupping, warping, and cracking during the dry Harmattan season. The 45mm tabletop slab was jointed using concealed steel splines. The fluted wall slats were individually machined, bevel-cut, and mounted onto acoustic backing boards.

All timber received three coats of dead-matte Italian polyurethane to protect against water rings and hot dish marks while preserving the natural grain and warmth of authentic Iroko.

Quality & Seasoning Protocol

All timber elements machined from lumber kiln-seasoned in our Owerri workshop to 10–12% moisture equilibrium.
